Support / How it works

Configuring Eclipse Configuring GForge

SuperWaba's support site works with GForge, which is the tool used inside the SourceForge (the most known hoster for opensource projects) site. He contains features like version control (CVS - Concurrent Versions System), creation of tracks for enhancement and bug trackings, and more. the GForge tool used in the SuperWaba's site is customized to support all the issue types defined in our support page. The GForge tool is hosted in our Linux dedicated server, and it is available only to handle our support plans.

To better explain how our support works, we will use a fictitious case. The ACME company had just purchased a support plan with 20 credits. After we receive the payment confirmation, we create in GForge a plan named spacme (sp = support plan), and an user acme. The user is automatically activated and can be used by any ACME employee. To the spacme project, we add the 3 credits.

In the sequence, the acme user is notified and makes the upload of his project to the private CVS. This is a requirement of the SuperWaba support: the users must use some concurrent versions system tool. We do not accept the mailing of files in any way, only by using the repository (for sources) or the GForge upload-a-file (for binary files). With the project commited to the repository, you can start to open the requisitions.

The first link above, Configuring Eclipse, is a thorough tutorial that explains how to use Eclipse (3.0M7) to create a project, use ANT to call Warp and Exegen, and configure Eclipse to access the private CVS.

In the second link, there's a tutorial that describes how to use the GForge tool at our site to open the issue queries, and it also explains how to use Eclipse for the version control of the files that belongs to the project. To fully understand this tutorial, we recommend that you follow the first tutorial before.

Note: both tutorials have lots of screenshots, so the page loading can be somewhat slow.
