Products / Frequently asked questions

These are the most common questions (and answers) of people that are purchasing SuperWaba or that are having problems to download the SDK after the purchase. If you still have a question, contact us so we can improve the faq.
  • Can I download a trial version of the full SuperWaba Professional package? No, we don't have such trial version. You must download the GPL version and see if SuperWaba meets your needs.
  • Where can I get a trial version of Litebase? There are no trial versions of Litebase, but we can send you a jar file that will let you run Litebase in the desktop; you will NOT be able to run Litebase in the PDA. If you want this, please fill the form in the Contact Us. Note that the javadoc and the "Litebase Companion.pdf" are available online, just select the Products / Litebase menu item above.
  • What all extra features we will get in the professional version? Please see the Products / Comparative table menu item above.
  • How long it takes to purchase the Professional version? It depends on how fast your credit card is accepted by our online store. It also depends if you follow all the instructions. If you do, it may take 15 minutes. If you don't read the instructions, it may take several days. To purchase SuperWaba Professional, just click in the BUY link in the menu item above. All the process is automatic, no human intervention is needed.
  • In my company, i'll be the one that will pay for the subscription and also the one who will download the sdk. Is this possible? When you click in the BUY link above, you will register an ADMINISTRATOR of the account. This is the guy responsible for doing the payments of the subscription, it CANNOT DOWNLOAD THE SDK. Once the subscription was paid, the administrator must go back to the site and then he have two choices: register a CONTACT, the guy that will download the SDK and open support requests; OR, the administrator can make himself the contact. This dual-person model is important in big companies, where the person who programs (unfortunately :-)) is not the one that do the payments. ATTENTION: avoid registering the company's owner/president as the CONTACT, because all support e-mails will go to him, and this can compromise the quality of our service.
  • I'm having problems with the payment. If you have problems when using Regsoft, our online store, you must contact Regsoft. If your credit card was not accepted, you can do a wire transfer. In this case, just login as the account administrator and click in the INVOICE link.
  • I already purchased the product but i still only see the GPL version to download. If you had an old GPL account, and used the same e-mail for the contact of the Professional subscription, you will receive an e-mail informing ANOTHER PASSWORD, which you will use to open requests at our support system GFORGE (http://gforge.superwaba.net) and to download the SDK at this site. If you login with the new password, you will be able to download the Professional SDK.
  • I found a bug in SuperWaba or a problem in my code and I need help. Where can i find instructions on how to open a support request at GForge? Just login as the contact defined when you purchased the subscription, go to the page where you download the SDK, and click in the link "Show instructions for CVS and support system usage".
  • Which platforms can I develop in? You can use Windows or Linux, with your favorite IDE. The most common IDE is Eclipse.
  • Are there any user interface editors? No, but creating user interface forms in SuperWaba is very easy, make sure you read the User Interface chapter in the "SuperWaba Companion.pdf" file inside SuperWabaSDK/doc folder.
  • There are some chapters in the SuperWaba Companion that I cannot find. These chapters (Library Tutorial, Optimization Tricks tutorial) are available only in the Professional package.
  • How many companies adopted SuperWaba? Since we released SuperWaba 5.0 (34 months ago), 337 companies purchased our Professional product. The following graph shows how many companies per country:

  • Can SuperWaba connect to Webservices? Yes, see the Products / Comparative table menu item above.
  • Can SuperWaba connect directly to Oracle or other databases? No, SuperWaba does not support direct connections to other databases. What you can do is write a middleware such as a servlet, an ASP page, or an webservice, which will be contacted by your SuperWaba client application via HTTP protocol.
  • Does SuperWaba have Unicode support? Yes, SuperWaba supports the 16-bit unicode for displaying things, but currently, it is not possible to enter data using other keyboards than the one available in the PDA.
  • I already heard about TotalCross (SuperWaba 6). Where can I find more information about it? You can find more information here.
